Building mikvahs worldwide takes more than funding — it takes a community of dedicated people who believe in the importance of sacred water infrastructure. There are many ways to contribute your time, skills, and passion to TRA’s work.
The Mayim Society — Monthly Giving
Join TRA’s circle of monthly supporters. Like the persistent drops of water that inspired Rabbi Akiva, your recurring gift provides the steady, reliable funding that allows us to plan and build with confidence.
Mayim Society members receive quarterly project updates, recognition on our website (with permission), and the knowledge that their steady support is literally building sacred spaces worldwide.
Community Advocacy
Know a Jewish community that needs a mikvah? You can be the bridge. TRA relies on community advocates to identify underserved areas and connect us with local leadership. Here’s how:
1. Identify the need — Is there a Jewish community without mikvah access?
2. Connect with local leaders — Introduce TRA to the local rabbi or community president.
3. Help us assess — Provide information about community size, nearest existing mikvah, local conditions.
4. Champion the project — Help rally local support and awareness.
Contact Danny at 845-517-3908 or info@tra.ngo to report a community in need.
Professional Volunteers
We welcome professionals who can contribute specialized skills:
• Architects & Engineers — Help design mikvah facilities that meet local building codes and halachic requirements
• Construction Professionals — Advise on or supervise construction in challenging environments
• Lawyers — Assist with international permitting, nonprofit compliance, or land acquisition
• Fundraising Professionals — Help us reach our $10M campaign goal
• Translators — Help us communicate with communities in 25+ countries
• Marketing & Design — Help tell our story more effectively
Corporate & Organizational Partnerships
We partner with synagogues, Jewish federations, Chabad houses, and other organizations to identify and fund mikvah projects. If your organization is interested in partnering with TRA, we’d love to discuss:
• Co-sponsoring a specific project in a location meaningful to your community
• Matching gift campaigns that double your members’ impact
• Educational partnerships to teach about mikvah and family purity
• Mission trips to visit active construction sites
Spread the Word
Even if you can’t give financially right now, you can still make a difference:
• Share TRA’s story with friends and family
• Forward our website to potential donors
• Mention TRA at your Shabbat table, shul, or community event
• Include TRA in your shul’s tzedakah distribution
Word of mouth is one of our most powerful tools. In the Orthodox and traditional Jewish world, personal recommendation carries enormous weight.
